Villas in tourists cities are selling faster than condo apartments

A review of the housing market in Chonburi Province in the first quarter of 2022 showed that a total of 131,338 units were listed there, including 68,615 apartments in condominiums.

Pattaya, frequented by both Thai and foreign tourists, was the most popular location among buyers of buy-to-live and buy-to-rent condominiums (it accounted for 52% condos sold in Chonburi Province).

Another fast-selling location was Jomtien Beach with numerous new development projects, including condominiums. This is a quiet, serene place surrounded by amenities, such as restaurants and water parks. It also attracts house-hunters and investors alike.

As for low-rise projects, 62,182 such properties (47% of the total real estate supply) were built in Chonburi.

541 villas are for sale there, accounting for 1% of the total supply. The most popular location is Wong Amat – a quiet place minutes away from the beach and a big hit among high-end buyers.

Public investment in infrastructure and private mega-projects in the Eastern Economic Corridor (including Chonburi), however, became an important incentive for housing market development in Chonburi Province. It is aimed at making this place popular among a greater number of buyers in the future, who would purchase buy-to-live and buy-to-rent villas not only in the seaside resort area.

The average home sales level in Chonburi is currently 73%, villa projects being the most popular. All such projects are located near Pattaya.
