The period of payment of tax on land and buildings was extended for 3 months, as another measure of support for citizens. The deadline at the end of April was moved to the end of July.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that the extra time will allow taxpayers to pay taxes without fines and accumulated pennies. Those who have already been fined will receive compensation.
Local administrative bodies must inform taxpayers about their tax obligations by the end of August and inform land authorities about unpaid taxes by the end of September.
Owners of houses, farms, commercial premises and undeveloped lands are all subjects of the law on land tax and construction tax.
In connection with the COVID-19 outbreak, the government introduced a 90% reduction in land and construction tax in 2020 to reduce the burden on landowners.
The Ministry of Finance decided not to extend this tax benefit, it was valid only from 2020 to 2021.
