While restrictions in the world are easing, Thai retailers are rethinking their approach to real estate. They are looking for alternatives to the still existing danger of Covid-19 and are trying to expand their influence. Some are trying to move away from the usual shopping centers and open outlets outside them to attract the attention of a larger audience. They open kiosks and pick-up points and begin to focus on goods delivery.
The head of retail Consulting and transactional Services at CBRE in Thailand, Khun Jariya Thumtrongkitkul, stressed how important it is for brands, especially small ones, to be able to flexibly adjust and adapt to changing realities – " If entrepreneurs want to keep the business, they should be able to start a business under any circumstances."
"Locations that are not linked to malls may become a key for retailers in the future, mainly for small stores. So brands can expand the range of products that are in demand at the moment," added Khun Jariya.
