The demand for villa rentals in Phuket has increased markedly over the past few months

Interest in renting villas in Phuket increased by 46.2% in the period from June to July, and then jumped by another 34.1% from July to August.

This is welcome news for the island as it prepares for its first peak period without entry restrictions since 2019. The increase in demand for villa rentals in Phuket may be a sign that a strong high season is expected this year.

Slightly more than 73% of the demand for villa rentals in Phuket is accounted for by foreigners. Residences with monthly rents of 50,000 baht and above were the most popular among both foreign and local tenants, followed by residential buildings with rents of 20,000 to 50,000 baht per month.

50,000 Thai baht is approximately 1,400 dollars, which is an affordable price for European and American tourists. However, this is an inflated price for local residents. Increased rental demand may lead to overpricing in the Phuket market.
