Projects that meet the needs of the future

A new approach to the development of residential projects that meets the needs of the future. The category of needs of the future primarily includes a charging station for electric vehicles.

The consequences of the energy crisis combined with the government's policy, which wants Thailand to become the center of electric vehicle production in AСEAN, it is planned to produce 1.2 million electric vehicles in Thailand by 2036.

A total of 95,034 electric vehicles were registered in the country from 2019 to 2021, including HEV (hybrid electric vehicle), BYD (battery electric vehicle) and PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle). In 2021 alone, the number of registered electric trains, including HEV, EV and PHEV, was 40,710 units, which is 43% more than in 2020.

It is expected that the registration of passenger electric vehicles in 2022 is likely to grow by at least 50%, while the estimated number of registrations of electric vehicles will be at least 61,065 for all types of vehicles, bringing the total number of registered electric vehicles in Thailand to 156,100 pcs., therefore, the need for charging stations for electric vehicles in Thailand increases.

According to the report of the Thai Electric Vehicle Association, the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand-EVAT states that in 2021 (as of September 22, 2021) there were 693 charging stations with approximately 2,285 outlets, and their number is likely to increase in the future, especially the installation of charging stations for electric vehicles and sockets in residential buildings. Both condominium projects and residential projects in which 3 main factors must be taken into account during construction:

  1. Research on the consumption of electric vehicles or the future trend of the use of electric vehicles among residents.
  2. The best place for electric vehicle charging stations in condominiums.
  3. Respect for the interests of all residents.

In addition, according to the plans of the Energy Policy Administration: by 2030, Thailand should have 567 charging stations for electric vehicles and 13,251 chargers for fast charging of electric vehicles, covering all areas of Thailand. Emphasis on cost availability. This is an opportunity for real estate entrepreneurs, both condominiums and low-rise buildings.
