Tosapol Thangsubut, Head of Business Development, revealed the statistics of registration of new companies in the area of Eastern Economic Corridor, namely in the provinces of Chachengsau, Chonburi and Rayong. It is reported that in two months (January-February) of 2022, 1,452 new companies were registered, which is 27.7% more than in the same period in 2021. The total registered capital is 3,341.88 million baht.
The most common areas of activity of new companies:
- Construction sector (130 companies, authorized capital of 223 million baht).
- Real estate companies (124, authorized capital 401 million baht).
- Logistics and brokerage (95 companies, authorized capital of 277 million baht).
As a result, there are 77,447 legal entities in Eastern Economic Corridor zone with a total authorized capital of 1.53 trillion baht, of which 55,981 in Chonburi, 14,973 in Rayong and 6,493 in Chachengsao.
54.41% of the total capital was contributed by foreign investors, Japanese citizens have the highest share – 385,202 million baht, followed by Chinese citizens – 106,228 million baht and Singapore citizens – 46,518 million baht.
Eastern Economic Corridor zone attracts investors and contributes to the development of the provinces it covers. Due to this, active construction is underway and real estate in these areas is becoming more expensive.
