The Tobacco Administration of Thailand, hoping to generate more income, launched an auction for the lease of land for 30 years. Pilot 3 sites in the business district along the Chao Phraya River, in the center of Bangkok and in the Special Economic Zone in Chiang Rai Province. An auction for the following 3 plots will be held soon:
- Plot 1, Charoen Krung Street, next to the Chao Phraya River, Bangkok, with an area of about 8,000 m2, in the past, the first tobacco factory was located here.
- Plot 2, plot near Bai Ya Mae Corn station, with an area of about 22,400 m2, in the center of Chiang Rai, shopping district.
- Plot 3, Bai Ya Wiang Phan Station site, Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province. The area of 120,000 m2 is a large plot of land near the Mae Sai Special Economic Zone.
The event is scheduled for June 28, 2022. It is planned to close the auction until November 2022.
In addition to the above 3 plots of land, the Tobacco Authority also has many plots of land in Bangkok and other provinces. If the auction is successful, it is planned to put up other profitable lots.
