Thai consumers now prefer real estate close to medical facilities and want to avoid the neighborhood with busy and crowded places due to COVID-19 outbreaks.
In the first half of 2022, a survey was conducted, during which 1,000 local residents aged 22 to 69 were interviewed about their preferences regarding living and buying real estate.
- 88% of respondents preferred a house near the hospital
- 65% of respondents preferred housing near amenities such as banks and supermarkets
- 66% said they avoid visiting crowded places.
COVID-19 has increased people's desire to live near medical centers. Consumers want to have housing in places where they can easily get to hospitals to help plan their long-term treatment and get help on time.
In the past, living near public transport was a priority until 2022, when it dropped to third.
This is the first time that proximity to hospitals has been so highly appreciated by citizens. This shows that people are more worried about their health now than before.
Thais, according to the survey, also appreciate the financial incentives of the developer, such as discounts or cashback. The catalog of the developer's previous projects also influences the decision to buy a home.
Also, almost 60% of respondents said they prefer a job that allows them to work from home or at least have a flexible schedule.
These changes in the behavior of potential customers will affect the plans for new development projects.
