For 5 years, Chinese citizens have become owners of the largest number of real estate units among foreigners in Thailand worth more than one hundred billion baht. There are a large number of real estate units that were bought by Chinese citizens through front persons. Most of these objects cost at least 50 million baht, and are a house with a plot of land (and a foreigner cannot own a plot of land). Such objects are officially considered the property of Thais. Will the government fight the purchase of real estate by foreigners through figureheads? Is it not worth eradicating the cause of forgery?
The Real Estate Information Center of Thailand named China the country with the highest purchasing power in the real estate market. Data on the transfer of ownership of condominiums for 2017-2022 showed that the Chinese own 27,738 apartments in condominiums with a total value of more than 116.8 billion baht. These are the figures of official purchases without figureheads. This demonstrates that China really affects Thailand's real estate. Developers will continue to take into account the preferences of Chinese buyers, especially in their popular areas: Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Rayong.
