Is the crisis of small private hotels a unique opportunity?

Small private hotels are still in a crisis situation. After the removal of COVID-19 restrictions, the number of tourists in the country has increased, but still has not returned to pre-pandemic levels. The tourism business of Thailand feels the absence of Chinese and Russian tourists.

During the pandemic, hotels reduced prices for their services, and local tourists and rare foreigners preferred to take 4–5-star hotels at a reduced price, ignoring small private hotels.

The owners put their hotels up for sale at a discount of up to 50%. They expect to be bought by large Chinese investors or foreigners. Is it worth buying a hotel in Thailand now? The tourism sector is actively reviving and developing. However, experts believe that the tourism business will return to an enviable volume only after the return of Chinese tourists and the full opening of China's borders. It is believed that this may take another 1-2 years.
