Changes in the rules of entry to Thailand! Cancellation of PCR testing

Since March 2020, Thailand has been closed to tourists due to quarantine measures aimed at reducing the number of infected COVID-19. In September 2021, Sandbox program was opened, which allows you to enter the most popular resort regions of the country with a 14-day quarantine in hotels from a certain list.

Since February 2022, Test&Go program has been introduced, which allows fully vaccinated tourists (including the Sputnik V vaccine) to enter the country without passing a 14-day quarantine. Tourists had to book a hotel from SHA++, AQ, OQ or AHQ list, but only for the 1st and 5th day of their stay in the country. It was during these days that PCR testing was carried out. From the 2nd day, the tourist had the right to move around the country.

The entry rules were updated on April 1, 2022. Now foreigners entering Thailand do not need to take a PCR test before traveling, but they still need to take a PCR test on the first day of arrival in Thailand and re-take self-testing in the express test format on the 5th day.

It is also stated that if during Songkran Festival (April 13-15) the number of infected remains at the level of 50,000-60,000 people per day, and the number of deaths does not exceed 100 per day, the Ministry will propose to cancel the first PCR study upon arrival in Thailand and replace it with an express test and examination by medical personnel from May 1, 2022.

It is planned that from June 1, 2022, all entry restrictions will be lifted.
